 My main body of work is in landscape painting. My work is expressive in nature and has a very distinctive style.

My inspiration comes from  grandiose, mountain, coastal and Industrial landscapes of  North Wales, poetry, and  social culture. Initially working from life or memory, I capture the basic architecture and atmosphere of my subject.

​

Using a myriad of expressive mark making techniques, I construct the artwork in several layers. The resulting artwork invites the viewer to immerse themselves into a mobile ,three dimensional space with one or various pathways through to light.

 

The subject may present a harmonious or dystopian sense, however there is always a pathway to light.  The light represents hope, that helps Guarantee survival .
